When I decided to become a teacher, my choice caused a lot of raised
eyebrows. To say that my parents and friends were surprised means to put it in
a very mild way. The matter is that I have always been a very apt student with
a huge learning potential, but with a significant complication: I was
considered by my teachers to be bad-tempered, noisy and difficult to deal with,
while I considered them to be boring, mediocre and very often unprofessional.
So, my career path choice seemed really very strange. When my father asked me
about the reasons, I simply explained that I wanted to be a good teacher.
The fact that I have had so many difficulties communicating with educational professionals made me feel that there was something deeply wrong with their attitude to students. When I first experienced that feeling, I started looking for an answer to the question about what being a good teacher means to me. The characteristics which seemed desirable were numerous: professionalism, kindness, tolerance, ability to set a rapport, etc. However, there were two points which seemed absolutely crucial.
First,
a good teacher is supposed to be able to teach his/her students to be afraid of
making mistakes, as it is a necessary part of learning and skipping it means
that the skill will never be mastered. Teachers have the very important
responsibility of shaping the lives of young, impressionable children. With
this responsibility comes great pride and joy. Therefore all teachers should
strive for what can be considered to be a “good teacher.” A good teacher can be
defined as someone who always pushes students to want to do their best while at
the same time trying to make learning interesting as well as creative. A
positive or negative influence from a teacher early on in life can have a great
effect on the life of a child. Teachers, especially at the elementary level,
must be very creative with their teaching styles. Not every child learns the
same way, nor are they interested in the same things. It is difficult to keep
the attention of 15-20 children under the age of ten.
Second, a teacher does not have to be a walking encyclopedia, but a person who
is able to show the students how to learn, where to find the information and
how to evaluate it critically.
Third, the Strong Personality of Teacher leads to Learning. If
a teacher has a strong personality and can
motivate her class well, learning will take place. Generally, pupils don’t like
inactive, slow and weak teacher. Teaching-learning situation will be boring if
teachers possess these traits. Today, pupils love to have teachers who will
inspire them and someone who makes teaching enjoyable. Teachers can easily
motivate pupils to learn if they can perform variety of roles inside the class…
teachers should know how to sing, how to act, how to recite poems, tell
interesting stories, knows how to introduce games. Learning will surely take
place having this kind of teacher. Gone are the traditional teachers who don’t
know how to smile and who always get angry in the class…teachers today always
smile and welcome each day as bright and enjoyable time. Most of the teachers
today have strong personality that leads to an effective teaching- learning
situation.
These three points make a good teacher who will be
able to combine different spheres of the profession being a knowledge provider,
an entertainer, a supporter, an authority and a friend. And this is the person
I have been trying to become for eleven years now.

“Our profession is the best of all
others” said Yan Komenskii. I completely agree with this statement and I am
thankful to fortune that I work as a teacher. As for me it is not just a
profession. It is my lifestyle, definite composition of mind and soul, responsibility,
hard work, lots of patience and the opportunity to make the world better,
bringing up young people strong and self confident.
The basis of my teaching process is in
love to children, kindness, respect and trust. I try not only to teach but share
the warmth of my heart and soul. I
get
job-satisfaction; I am pleased that the students need my assistance. I am a
counterpart, an adviser or just an older friend for them.
I am an energetic and creative person. I
do everything possible to make my lessons interesting and exciting, enhancing
students̕ will to get wider knowledge. During
the lesson I am demanding and honest because it is a basis of an effective
cooperation.
Proper education is the key to the future
of our country. And my aim is to make certain contribution into it.
I do my best to develop my students̕
English knowledge, at the same time to prepare them to being competitive. I want them to become strong
personalities, to have an active social position. These traits, to my mind, are
the steps for a successful member of modern society. And successful people are
able to create well-being of their motherland.
I want my students to follow me as a
personality. In this case I have to know a lot and to be a professional. My
personal credo is – “Never stop”, as there is a lot undiscovered in front of us.
Brining up and teaching new generations I
get an opportunity to make the world better, touching moral, aesthetic and
spiritual parts of the students̕ growth.
To educate “a real personality” you
should make a lot of efforts. But it is not an obstacle, not a barrier for me,
as I adore my profession. Every day curious students inspire my
self-confidence. I am proud to say “I am a teacher”.

I am a Teacher! Teaching lives in my
heart. Very often, walking along the streets of my town, I meet my students and
their parents. All deeds in my life I analyse from the point of view of
my profession. It helps me to be more sensitive, responsible and caring.
My life is pretty good, because
I adore my job. A typical day of being a teacher has me
waking up in the morning excited to see what another day is going to be
like. I look forward to seeing my students. I walk into class and the
whole classroom is quiet. We begin the day with speaking English. I feel
delight and enjoyment when my students understand me and strive to communicate
in the foreign language.
Moreover, teachers have the
very important responsibility of shaping the lives of young, impressionable
children. With this responsibility comes great pride and joy. A
teacher is a person who always pushes students to want to do their
best while at the same time trying to make learning interesting as well as
creative. A positive or negative influence from a teacher early on in life can
have a great effect on the life of a child.
All in all , I’d like to say that
teaching is a good choice for me because I love to be around people. I am good
at this job because I love children and like to help them to become a
personality .

A person is so funny in her/his wishes:
when you are young you wish to be an adult and when you grow up you wish so
much to be a child. Memories, memories… They are bright pictures of your
childhood. I always dreamed to be a teacher. I remember they told in my village
a “a master of life”. And I really wished to be that “master”, that’s why
persistently started to move to my goal. Studying and the further steps to my
dream. And my dream came true and I’m become a teacher! I have a clear thought
that every child is unique. But this uniqueness demands and claims for
you to be unusual, erudite, creative, love children. By V.O. Suhomlynskiy words
“A teacher without love to children is the same as a singer without voice, a
musician without earing, a painter without a filling of colour ”. He says about
wise, kind but demanding love that teaches us to live.
Embroidering in every child a ray of my
soul, I always try to evaluate my pupils justly and honestly, help them is
their enthusiastic first steps, prepare them both for scientific and for
life trails. I put my demands particularly, laconically, comprehensively,
easily understood and always in warm voice.
Getting more experience I understood that
building relations with children you need to know when to stop. You should
never run to extremes. A teacher should de inviolable, consequent in his/her
deeds and at the same time flexible, capable to change his/her decisions and
demands if it is necessary for a good result. I always by to become an adult
friend for my pupils but first of all I by to be their tutor and their leader.
So, to teach clever, intelligent, eternal
is my mission. I do and I will always do everything I can to help bur
native land to have not only scientists, but simply nice people and doesn’t
matter if they are carpenters turners, welders or cleaners. The main thing is
for is for them to become men in full definitions of this word: kind, patient,
kind-hearted, polite, generous and friendly.
I should be very wise skillful, patient,
tolerant, because I’m the person who is responsible for future life, health,
mind, happiness of my children. Is there any other more important
responsibility?
For a person who has cold heart, who is
indifferent to children, nature, all that is happening around there is no place
at school.
My life goes on. And again I’m in the
whirl of school life. Again I perfect, polish, direct. It is eternal. That is
essence of my work. The work I’m proud of, love and respect.
I think I work for future.
A pupil and a teacher grow and develop
together.
I grow. I develop.
